Vision

by Sandra Marchetti

after Félix Vallotton’s “Le Mensonge”

I have
a fresh
heart for
you. My
lashes flick
in sleep,
slip my
limbs. My
spine unlocks
like a chime.

I press in
to our lie,
exhale my
mouthful
of fog.
